History
The JDog Foundation, Inc. was formed in August 2016. We are incorporated under the Pennsylvania Nonprofit Corporation Law, and comply under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
The founders of JDog Brands, Jerry and Tracy Flanagan, wanted to establish an entity that could:
- Provide benefits and assistance to Veterans of the United States Armed Forces;
- Promote increased awareness of key issues facing our Veterans;
- Raise funds in support of programs, organizations and events that support our Veterans
During 2017 and 2018, the Foundation determined where we could best make a difference. We decided to focus our efforts on raising funds, and providing contributions to four Veteran/Military related organizations:
- Homes for Our Troops
- Operation Homefront
- Pat Tillman Foundation
- Fisher House Foundation*
Additionally, through the influence of a JDog franchisee, we established a Dog Tag program, Never Forgotten: Warriors Remembered to honor post-9/11 service members who were lost in combat.
We had our first major fundraising event in 2018, and used the proceeds to provide donations to each of our four selected organizations in early 2019.
During 2019, we decided to focus on a mission where we could make a measurable impact. Starting in 2020, we chose three major efforts:
